Solan District

Solan is situated on the foothills of Shivalik hills of Himalya, Solan is a small hill town which is known for its beautiful geography which has an importance from the tourism point of view.

Solan is also famous as the Mushrooms city as mushroom is a major crop that is grown here. Other crops such as tomatoes are also grown here which gives solan the name of city of red gold.

The solan city got his name from the temple of goddess shoolni devi, Solan has many more temples of ancient heritage which makes this small hill station of great importance.

Solan is located between chandigarh and shimla  on chandigarh kalka shimla highway and is easily accessible via road and trains.
