History of Jorhat Airport

The airport was built in 1950 by the Indian Air Force and is also the IAF first air base in Far East. The airbase is used by IAF to transport essentials to Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh. Government of India On 8th February sanctioned 156 crores for accusation of private land to facilitate expansion of Jorhat airport.
