Haryana Power Generation Corporation Limited is planning to extend an additional of 800 MW. units at DCRTPP Yammuna nagar and PTPS Panipat. HPCGL also got a global certification for its DCRTTP and PTPS plant after extensive audit, (M/S British Standards Institution awarded ISO 14001 and 45001.)

DeenBandhu Chhotu Ram Power Plant has a "zero effluent discharge" which help to make a very little enviromental impact in nearby adjoining villages. The fly ash produced by plant is also a problem to enviroment hence several steps to promote its secondary uses in cement and brick industries is on the way to minimise its adverse effect.
